United Way of South Central Changes Funding Model, Supports Projects Directly
United Way of South Central Indiana sets aside an amount to be used every year for Adventure Grants. These grants are open to local organizations that might not fit into the traditional UW funding. The maximum per grant is $500 and an organization can receive one per year. Your organization does not have to be a 501(c)3 to apply.
The application is now available, and grants will be awarded on a rolling basis until the allocated funds are depleted. The application is simple and easy to complete, tell us about your organization's project and how it benefits the community. In the past we have granted to a Boy Scout troop for a pinewood derby track, Girl Scouts for a camp-out, Becky's Place for a vegetable garden, and to the Community Baby Shower, among others.
Funding for the grants will be up for renewal each year as the United Way of South Central Indiana Board of Directors allocates its funds after its yearly campaign to raise money for programs and agencies the following year.
