United Way of South Central Indiana Launches Fall Fund Drive
Bloomington, Ind. — United Way of South Central Indiana announces the kickoff of its annual Fall Fund Drive. The “Connecting People to Possibility” fund drive runs through December 31, 2025, bringing together individuals, businesses, and community groups to support work that transforms lives across Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Monroe, Orange, and Owen counties.
Connecting People to Possibility
Every day, families in our region face the reality of being one emergency away from hardship. Too many of our neighbors—who are working hard, caring for loved ones, and supporting our communities—still struggle to cover basics like housing, food, healthcare, and childcare. This group is known as ALICE: Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.
Nearly half of local households are either living in poverty or just one crisis away from it—including 27% of families with children and 44% of seniors. One unexpected expense—a car repair, a medical bill—can push a family into crisis.
As costs continue to rise, these pressures are being felt even more deeply by ALICE families. United Way’s Fall Fund Drive comes at a crucial time, ensuring local programs have the resources to meet growing needs and help people build stability for the future.
United Way invests in programs that strengthen Youth Opportunity, Healthy Communities, and Financial Security. These investments open doors for ALICE families to move from crisis to stability—and toward lasting success.
Contributions to the Fall Fund Drive help United Way and its grant partners deliver critical programs that connect people to opportunity. Whether it’s access to healthy food, housing supports, youth mentoring, financial empowerment, or emergency services, every donation helps turn possibility into reality as part of United Way’s broader strategy to advance stability and opportunity for ALICE families.
“The needs in our community are evolving, but our goal stays the same—to connect people to possibility,” said Randy Rogers, President and CEO of United Way of South Central Indiana. “We know that rising costs are putting pressure on families across our region. That’s why this year’s fund drive is so important—every dollar raised helps ensure stability and opportunity for our neighbors.”
