2026 Grants Partners
$320,000 Invested in 18 Nonprofits Strengthening Stability, Health, and Opportunity Across the Region
In 2026, United Way of South Central Indiana is investing $320,000 in local communities through Impact and Opportunity Grants, supporting programs that strengthen families and expand opportunity across South Central Indiana.
UWSCI works to create lasting change for ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families by increasing stability, access, and opportunity. ALICE households earn above the federal poverty level but still struggle to afford basic necessities such as housing, food, childcare, and healthcare. These families are often one unexpected expense away from crisis.
The 2026 grants support programs that strengthen Financial Security, build a Healthy Community, and expand Youth Opportunity — three critical areas for helping disrupt the cycle of instability and create stronger futures for local families.
Ten nonprofit organizations serving Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Monroe, Orange, and Owen counties were each awarded $25,000 Impact Grants to support programs that advance long-term stability and opportunity for ALICE families and individuals.
In addition, eight regional nonprofits were awarded Opportunity Grants up to $10,000 to provide focused, meaningful support to essential programs serving children, families, and individuals working toward greater stability and opportunity. This Opportunity Grant funding was made possible by the success of UWSCI’s fall fundraising efforts, allowing more resources to be invested directly into local programs that serve the community.
Together, these investments reflect UWSCI’s commitment to connecting people to possibility by supporting programs that strengthen families, expand opportunity, and build stronger communities across South Central Indiana.
