“Let’s do this better than we’ve ever done before!”
At the Past Chairs Luncheon, Jim Sims was introduced as the United Way Community Campaign Chair for the 2019-20 “Change Begins with You” fundraising campaign. Jim will lead fellow volunteers in inspiring donors to deepen the impact of United Way of Monroe County and 24 member agencies.
“This is such an honor. I wear this bracelet that says, “Never tire of doing good.” This is my passion for community service. One of the reasons I think United Way is so essential to this community is that there are people who work hard – but still don’t make a lot of money -- and it’s very important that we support social service agencies, like United Way, who help them and their children get through life.”
A recent retiree from Indiana University’s Residential Programs and Services Division, Jim now fills his days as a dedicated public servant on the Bloomington City Council. He has a distinguished record as a public servant and community leader. We’re delighted to have his passion for attending to our community’s greatest needs and his respected leadership chairing the campaign this year.
