Published Notification for Meeting of the Membership

The Board of Directors of United Way of Monroe County, Inc. is calling a vote of qualified members to be held online on July 13th, 2023, at 4:00 pm.
Qualified members will vote to affirm the Board's recommendation to unify the Organization with United Way of Monroe County, Inc., with the merged entity operating under the name United Way of South Central Indiana, Inc., or some version thereof, and vote to accept the Board's recommendation to amend the Articles of Incorporation.
Anyone who made an undesignated, unrestricted monetary donation of $1 or more to United Way of Monroe County, Inc. from January 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023, and was 18 years of age or older at the time of the donation may be eligible to qualify as a member and participate in the Meeting of the Members.
To determine eligibility, please call United Way of Monroe County, Inc. at (812) 269-1243 between Monday, July 3rd and Friday, July 7th during regular business hours.
If it is determined that you are a Qualified Member, you will receive the meeting registration link and necessary documents. An email address is required to participate; no materials will be provided via regular post or over the phone.
Detailed Voting Information
- Call the United Way to which you've made a gift
- Answer the qualifications questions (these are different per United Way)
- If it is determined that you are eligible to vote:
a. You will receive a qualifications packet that includes the documents needed for pre-review before the meeting of the Qualified Members
b. You will receive a link to register for the meeting of the Qualified Members
- Register for the meeting using the same email that was provided when you called the United Way
a. After registering, you will receive a link to join the meeting of the Qualified members on July 13th
b. This link is unique to you and should be kept in a secure place in anticipation of the meeting
i. Please do not share the link, as tracking registered and participating Qualified Members is part of a legal process
ii. Indiana does not allow nonprofit proxy voting, so no one else can participate on your behalf on July 13th
